Friendship
\ˈfren(d)-ˌship\
Noun: a state of mutual trust and support between two or more persons
What do you think is the true meaning of friendship? At Ivy League, we believe (and teach) that the true meaning of friendship is that you understand that a friendship is about giving and receiving, however, you should always reach out without expecting anything in return.
We encourage our campers to give the gift of friendship to each other … laughter, encouragement, support, praise, challenge, jokes, confidence, and respect.
When we hear our leadership team and campers talking about what friendship (and the High 5 Program) “looks” like, they say:
- “Making new campers feel welcome”
- “Including others when they feel they don’t fit in”
- “Sharing with the kids in my group”
- “Teaching a new camper the camp song”
- “Having the same kids in my group every summer”
- “Being buddies with different kids”
